Future Plans:

I currently am working towards my undergraduate degree in biology and hope to attend a medical school after and then eventually become a pediatrician. I also hope I can get a business degree and someday open up my own dance studio. Also my plans aren’t the most practical I plan to work hard to achieve my goals. I also hope to start up a organization that provides care to children in third world countries just because it is so important for children to grow up and get the care they need especially when they can’t do much on their own because they are so young.

Why you entered The Miss India-DC Pageant?

I entered the Pageant primarily because I’ve always been interested in it. I’ve heard about it from many people and it seems like a good experience if nothing else.
I also believe that girls need a role model who isn’t a Barbie. I believe they need to se perfect as them and as a role model that’s what I’d want people to learn, learn to love themselves for who they are.

What 3 words sum you up?

Compassionate, eccentric and driven

What is an interesting fact about you that not many know?

When I was learning how to walk I had a wobble in my walk and my dad called me ducky and bought be a stuffed animal ducking. Growing up I was given a lot of stuffed animal ducks and toy ducks and every since I can remember I’ve been collecting them. Today I have bout 35 in my collection. Most people don’t know that I collect “ducks” but I guess that’s a fun fact about me.

If you were a super hero, what would your super power be?

I wish I could fly because it would be so great to be able to try the world whenever I want. I’d also like that super power a lot because I like going to new places and having new experiences.

If you could take three things to a desert island what would they be and why?

My mom because my mom is my best friend and the one person I cannot live without.
I would take my favorite book series, which is The Perfect Chemistry Series by Simone Elkeles because I never can stop rereading them.
Lastly old photos because on of my favorite pass times is reminiscing on my childhood and the past. It would also help me remember my life if I was stuck on the island and just bring back a lot of old memories. I like feeling nostalgic.

Most embarrassing moment:

one time at my best friends parents anniversary party we all got really bored and didn’t feel like going to the dance floor to dance and decided to stand up on the tables and dance on the tables instead. It was fun in the moment but looking back to it was pretty embarrassing.

Biggest inspiration:

my mom is my biggest inspiration because I’ve seen her go through so much and overcome it all. I admire her positivity, work ethic, and compassion. I hope that one day I’ll be able to become half the women she is.
Worst nightmare: A long time ago I had a dream that my brother was kidnapped and I remember in the dream my parents got lost looking for him so I was on my own looking for him and I never found him and I just remember waking up really scared because I thought I had lost the three most important people in my life.

If you knew today was your last day on Earth, how would you spend it?

I would want to go on a picnic with all my family and friends because growing up my family always went on picnics and I just loved the free atmosphere and how everyone was enjoying nature, running around and playing games. I would want my last memory to be of all the people I love just enjoying themselves and it being happy and lively.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten:

Find beauty in the little things.
This is the best advice every given to me because since I’ve been leaving away from my family in college I realized that what I miss the most is the hugs and the little inside jokes that we have. Sometimes we all get really caught up in the superficial things and forget what actually matters.

Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?

Ideally I’d love to have my own practice and be working as a pediatrician. What I really hope to have done is to start up so sort of organization that allows us to provide free health care to children in third world countries. I also hope to be married and have started a family. I also hope that dancing is still part of my life in some shape or form just because it is so important to me right now.
